About

Nox Yarn co. is a small yarn dyeing company located in sunny Murrieta, CA. All yarn is dyed by me, Danielle Ahles, in a tiny studio surrounded by natural beauty.

My colorways are inspired by nature, mythology and general nerdery (be it internet-related or influenced by my favorite books and movies!). As an artist, I generally prefer to work on paper and canvas, often using only black ink for my illustrations and prints - dyeing yarn has been a way for me to explore color in a new and tactile medium, and I adore the process (and the results!). I hope you find something to love in my little shop!

Returns and exchanges
I want you to love your purchase! I care about my work and about my customers, and will never sell or ship you something that I do not feel is perfect, however, if you feel there is something wrong with your item or you are not totally satisfied with your purchase, *please* give me the opportunity make it right - message me with any and all concerns! Returns are accepted on a case-by-case basis within 7 days of receiving the item(s), and purchases must be returned in their original undamaged and unused condition. Please note that custom orders are final sale, except in case of seller error.
Payment
California residents will be charged sales tax. Cancellations on in-stock items can be made within 24 hours - after that time, your item might already be on its way to you!
Shipping
I strive to have a super short turnaround time! Most skeins you see in the shop are ready to ship and will be sent out in 1-3 business days. Made to order yarn can take up to 21 business days to be dyed, dried and shipped - but check the listing for individual turn around time estimates.

Please make sure your PayPal and Etsy mailing addresses are up to date! All purchases over $50 are shipped with insurance and tracking (within the US). If you are an international customer, please consider purchasing insurance to protect your investment! I am incredibly sympathetic to customers loss in cases of missing packages, but due to the time it takes to make items I can not be responsible for replacing items lost in the mail.
Additional policies and FAQs
Yarn presentation: All yarn will arrive in skeins (unless otherwise noted in listing). I do not offer yarn caking - requests that yarn be caked are sadly not able to be accommodated at this time.

Allergy info: Although my yarn is dyed in a pet-free detached studio environment, my home is shared with two sassy long-haired cats. Despite my best efforts with a lint roller, your item may arrive with one or two kitty hairs hitching a ride. If you have severe cat allergies, please use caution :)

Fragrance info: Skeins dyed on my LUNA or SOL (sparkle sock!) bases may have a slight vinegar smell when they arrive on your doorstep - this helps keep the sparkles nice and bright during the dyeing process! Additionally, I use lightly scented Eucalan or Soak Wash as a final rinse for all of my yarn - if you are sensitive to fragrance or would rather skip the rinse, I can also use unscented dish soap, castille soap or just water! :) Please leave me a message at checkout if you would prefer one of those wool wash alternatives.
