♦Utilisation of chemical products: Remove your jewelry when doing household chores. Household products, perspiration, rubber, chlorine or any substance containing sulfur causes corrosion and tarnishing. Lotions, cosmetics, hair products, perfumes also accelerate tarnishing of silver.

♦Routine daily: Remove jewelry before swimming or sunbathing because direct sunlight causes silver to tarnish. Avoid that your jewels are in contact with water, do not wear them in the shower. Residues of shampoo or shower gel can cause tarnishing and less shiny jewelry. Remove your jewelry when you go to bed so that it does not get caught in the blankets.

Sterling silver 925 consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals such as copper. These metals are combined with silver in order to be more malleable in the production of jewelry, however copper is a primary source that causes the silver to seal because it reacts with moisture and sulfur in the air.

Silver emerges more quickly in areas of high humidity and air pollution. This cannot be avoided.

Your body can also affect your jewelry (ex: you are on an acid diet, the metals you wear, the PH of your skin can also affect the silver to degrade faster because of the excessive amount of sweat.

There are several ways to clean 925 silver that you can find online. However, I do not recommend them 100%. Your jewelry may be even more damaged due to unprofessional care and instructions. My silver is all the more rolled up with rhodium. We offer a re-polishing and re-soaking service for your jewelry. Send us a message for this service and it will cost you between about 20 dollars and 50 dollars (including shipping and handling).

You can clean your jewelry with a soft dry cloth. Do not use toothpaste or baking soda as you may scratch the surface. Do not use chemicals such as bleach and acetone).

Go see a professional jeweler who will help you with appropriate techniques and equipment.

The stones: Wet with a small soft brush with warm soapy water. Carefully wipe or wipe it dry to remove dirt. Do not immerse gemstones in water. Rinse lightly in lukewarm water and dry with a clean cloth.
