My shop offers professionally restored clocks and metronomes with about 24 years of experience.
Seth Thomas Metronomes, Sessions Westminster and Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks, 400 Day (Anniversary) clocks and German Barometers are just some of my favorite items I have personally restored, repaired and/or serviced. In that time, I have serviced over 1000 metronomes and clocks. I also sell restored metronomes on Reverb, which is owned by Etsy.
I offer Seth Thomas Metronome Repair and Clock Repair Services!
Have an existing metronome or clock you want to keep and get repaired? Good news is that I can repair most Seth Thomas Metronomes and Clocks that I have either currently listed in my shop or have previously sold. Feel free to send me a message (by clicking on "Contact the Seller") telling me what you have and what work you would like to have done, and optionally attach up to 3 photos, and I can set up a Custom Etsy order for you!
After I perform a detailed movement overhaul, I list an item only after it has run long enough to ensure there are no hidden secrets. A purchase from my shop means that your item will arrive in your home ready to use and enjoy! I am also an active member of the NAWCC, membership number, 170566, site https://nawcc.org/ has more information.
If you are looking to purchase or get serviced a Maelzel type metronome to use in your own music practice sessions, you have come to the right shop! My fully serviced and restored metronomes keep an even beat when put on a level surface whether the sliding weight is set to 40 or 208 - a challenge to find in other metronomes described as "working perfectly". Note that I'm also a musician in the Livingston Symphony Orchestra who uses a mechanical metronome, so I know what it takes to properly service a metronome.
After buying an old clock from my grandma's estate in the late 1990s, I took a class on antique clock repair at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. Then I found how interesting the hobby is. I especially like rescuing old clocks, restoring them using the museum techniques I learned, and giving them new life in someone else's loving home. I've been restoring and selling clocks for about 24 years.
I work on metronomes too, especially ones made by the Seth Thomas Clock company. This work involves cleaning and polishing the case, ultrasonically cleaning movement (including removing the mainspring from its barrel), and re-lacquering the brass trim, plus recalibrating the beats per minute at the 80 BPM setting and setting the beat for even ticking across its entire 40 to 208 BPM range. As with the clocks I restore, everything is kept original as much as possible on metronomes, including the finish. I do all the work myself on my clocks and metronomes. No one I know locally works on metronomes. In addition, I'm also a musician so I know what it takes to properly service a metronome back to factory specs for daily use by a professional musician.
Check back often, as I will be selling more clocks after I have restored and run them long enough to ensure there are no "hidden secrets". In most cases, my servicing includes the following steps: the brass movements are disassembled and gears ultrasonically cleaned, plate holes pegged out, gears inspected for damage and wear, pivots polished where needed, bushings added where needed (pressed from the inside of the brass plate as recommended by the NAWCC as best practice). Then the entire movement is re-assembled, adjusted (both strike / chime point with respect to the minute hand being kept to within a minute if allowed by this type of antique clock, and time-keeping accuracy to within +/- 2 or 4 minutes per week for an 8-day clock) and oiled (using synthetic clock oil). As you can see if you read this far, this is a very labor-intensive service, saving you $150-$500 over other "as found" clocks. Plus, you can enjoy your clock right away rather than waiting on a repair shop. They typically will not need cleaning again for about 10 years. An oiling and inspection by a professional clock repairer every 1 to 3 years or so will keep your clock in tip-top shape, and this is relatively inexpensive compared to a full restoration like I have to do when people run their clocks longer than they should without servicing.
Please note: Any Order is subject to cancellation if Offsite Ad fee is taken out in addition to any sales discount, coupon, or best offer discount. Thanks for understanding.

I hope you will rate my restoration work and the transaction with positive feedback. If you do not believe I have earned it, please let me know.
My shop photo is the exterior of one of the metronomes I have restored, showing its beautiful original finish and brass trim polished and re-lacquered. The movement close-up photo is an example of how clean I get every clock movement in the restoration process performed on every item available in my Etsy shop.
