Metal box. No paint. 2 knobs. 1 foot switch. Spartan. Ugly in some ways, beautiful in others. It honestly has a ton of charm, knowing that what's inside was built by hand. It's cleanly built on the outside, but I'm not a take-it-apart kind of guy to report on the inside. I usually live in low-gain, so when I read that Tom Petty used a Red Llama, I was intrigued, but I couldn't afford to spend a ton on an expensive "authentic" higher-gain pedal that I would rarely use. Enter Chicago Stompworks and the Legitemate Beef--specifically the barebones version. I expected to use this pedal occasionally, but it feels so natural and amp-y that I find myself turning to it more and more often, using my volume knob more and my other pedals less. I honestly am smitten! Thanks for making this!
