Why do many of your items say "Handmade" when they're created with a laser cutting machine and not your actual hands?
The "Handmade" label is automatically applied by Etsy, so I can't change it. However, the laser-cut items are designed and created by me from scratch, and the designs are original, personalised and/or unique. So although the laser cutter is a machine, it's basically the tool that allows me to cut the original designs I create.
If you would like a genuinely handmade papercut (i.e. cut by me using scalpel and scissors) please contact me for a custom order.
Why does your Etsy shop say "I accept returns", but lower down says that custom or personalised orders can't be returned?
Custom and personalised orders (e.g. family tree artworks) take a long time to design and when finished they are also not usually suitable for re-selling to any other customers. So once the work has already been done, it's not possible to return these items if a customer has simply changed their mind.
However, I do allow cancellations within 2 hours of ordering the items, so if you have ordered by accident or found another product that you prefer then I'm happy to cancel and refund within 2 hours.
I also usually email customers a draft copy of the personalised design for them to approve before it is actually cut out, so we can both be sure that they will be happy with the final product.
Returns ARE possible if the item arrives damaged.
