I started my shop in 2005 when my husband's job transferred us to a very rural location in southeast Missouri. Up until that time, i did craft shows in the Iowa and Nebraska venues; supplied specialty gift stores in Iowa and Nebraska; and I taught decorative painting at Mangelsen's and Hobby Lobby in Omaha, Nebraska and in my private studio in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

My techniques aren't always "by the book", but, i get it done! I LOVE to paint fall and halloween - mostly because of the varied color palette that i get to use - and i can create the sweetest characters without conforming to tradition!

I started doing patterns in 2003 - with some wooden dolls - and moved on to light bulbs in 2004! I painted my FIRST gourd in 2005 - and that spawned a ton of new ideas for patterns! I present and teach my designs using light bulbs for 2 reasons - one being that they are readily available to everyone - and it's a good thing to recycle and keep out of the junk yard - and the second one being that it provides a UNIFORM surface - and can easily be conformed to gourd painting! You can adapt any of my light bulb patterns to a gourd - of your choice of shape or size!
