Taking the plunge with Etsy.
I have so many passions. I need to really narrow them down a bit but it's just hard. I like sewing and I like buying things that have stories in them that's why I have a vintage section in my shop. I also have a section called revisions for those things that I have improvised.
I have always been sewing ever since I can remember. I love fabrics. I can't seem to get away from buying fabrics. Please somebody stop me. I feel like I'm in candy land when I'm in a fabric store. So many fabrics.... so little time!
Many moons ago (in a galaxy far, far away) I've learned to sew just watching my Mom. She was a seamstress. As a young girl, I watched her cut fabrics without patterns. Just randomly out of her head she designed dresses. I watched and learned but the wind took me to a different place and got real busy living life.
I have acquired excellent different skills over the years working for Corporate America. Doing that, I have put my passion for things that I love to do in the back burner. But these passions haunt me at all times specially when I come across creative works done by amazing creative people on the planet. Then I tell myself: "Oh, that's easy. Even I can do that..." Suddenly, my Etsy shop was born!
When I'm not doing crafts, you'll find me in the kitchen. I love cooking vegetarian food. I have a website focused on vegetarian lifestyle to encourage people to eat healthy so we are not chained to medications. I feel good knowing that I can help people in the process.
That website is www.vegetarianyums.com. Another passion of mine is making videos. I have two YouTube Channels. The links are on my website. I am also a published author and you can find my book here: http://www.amazon.com/Pura-De-Franco/e/B00IOQDJMI.
I try to make my crafts as organic as possible without the use of chemical adhesives and sprays. I avoid leather, fur or feathers. I'm comfortable when I use products without the animals being involved in the process of making my crafts. I don't like the thought of an animal suffering or dying just for the sake of fashion.
Though, I like to collect seashells as we live near the beaches. Seashells are gathered on the beach by nature. It's totally humane.
So you see, I can't keep creating things without getting rid of them... otherwise, I'd be in the next episode of 'hoarders'. So I took a plunge with Etsy. Help me get rid of all this stuff and compensate my time and effort a little bit. My handcrafted items are a true labor of love... handmade in the glamorous Hollywood Florida USA, from my hands to yours.
