The Story of Qwit
Following a breakup, André Arriaga—an Atlanta-based writer & photographer—started to scribble down all the things he coulda said on the way out the door. And, to be fair, even a few things he shoulda said during the relationship. Soon enough, he found himself staring at about 100 quick-witted lines that spanned every emotion, obsession and repulsion he’d ever felt—not to mention the basis for a scorching line of unusual occasion cards. All that was left was the development of an equally cunning aesthetic to make it all look as clever as it read. Enter local graphic designer and Qwit partner, Charlie North. One late night powwow at the OK Café and three pink ladies later, André and Charlie had the general concept down for “Qwit | quick-witted greetings + dismissals”.
By the end of 2012, Qwit had not only survived the end of the world, but also mushroomed into a creative explosion of absurdity with a gorgeously designed line of cards & t-shirts—one that would allow anyone to say: “I love you”, “I loathe you” or “I don’t know you, but I’m going to have your babies.”
