How do you pronounce 'Raenne'?!
I started sewing a few years ago after I struggled to find reasonably priced yet good quality baby items for all my friends and family who were welcoming little ones into the world. I really begrudged paying high prices for items that probably weren't made in the most ethical of ways. So one day I decided to buy a sewing machine and some fabric and that is how Raenne was born!
But, how do you say the name I hear you ask?! I wanted the name to represent the business, and as both myself and my partner work on the business I did a kind of mash up of both our names - my name is Rachel, his name is Ben, hence Raenne!
Raenne opened it's virtual doors in May 2012 and it has been going from strength to strength ever since. We have done a few markets at the Kirribilli Markets in Sydney, and we hope to do many more. We are both very creative people and love the whole process, from designing new items to making them, to then taking beautiful photos and finally getting them in to the shop! Raenne has enabled me to give up my 'day job' and I love that I can now dedicate all my time to it, as there's nothing else I'd rather do!
