Where did Rebarn start?
Ha, I am glad you asked! When I lived in Michigan I saw many barns being torn down or simply falling over. One day I found a posting on Craigslist that was offering up as much free barn wood that you could haul. I jumped at the chance and loaded my small VW hatchback at the time to the brim with barn wood. In a previous life, I worked as a general contractor building and renovating residential buildings. The skills I learned while at my day job translated perfectly to repurposing barn wood into tables, beds, benches, chairs, fireplace mantles as well as many other home good items. Thus the name "rebarn" as a way to pay hommage to barns being reborn.
I am also a formally trained digital designer so when I am not making furniture pieces, I create digital art inspired by the places that I have traveled to. I am crazy about Michigan and you will see alot of my pieces reflect this.
I am always looking to add to my line of products so if you see something that is missing drop me a note. Also I am always looking to partner with shops, artists and organizations that share my passion. If you think there might be a match, message me, I would love to talk.
