I grew up appreciating arts and crafts because my father always had an art project of some kind going on, or he was restoring a flea market furniture find. My grandmother was an amazing oil artist and had a love for sewing clothes, quilts and home décor. I have picked up so many creative and artistic knowledge from them as well as other family members over the years. It was a friend though that introduced me to the world of adobe photoshop and illustrator almost 15 years ago and I have been intrigued ever since.
I love to create artful, fun things that are unique and personable. I like to do different crafts, and one project feeds another in an inspirational way.
I’ll sew for a while and then it’s time to draw, paint, or refinish a find. I usually have multiple projects going throughout my small but fun and inviting home studio that my husband built by converting our garage into an amazing work space. His carpentry skills and creativity are an amazing asset to my craft. He likes me having an Etsy site so that I can sell some of the things I create and they don’t pile up around the house. He understands the value in my art and what it does for me.
I like to work at home because, my first priority is motherhood.
The creative work is a stress reliever, and though I love my yoga, meditation, and being a physical outdoors girl, if I’m stressed out, I usually have a strong drive to do something creative.
