Frequently asked questions

May I see additional pictures of this item?

Please send me a message if you would like additional photos of any particular piece. I will be happy to accommodate, whenever possible!

How can I request a quote for custom work on an item I already own?

Email me at valeria@refablished.com with photos of your piece, and the specific finish you are looking for. I'll send back a quote and timeframe for completion.

What if the piece is damaged during shipping?

I use only top-rated shippers that I can trust, with an excellent track record for quality. I always want to make sure customers are happy, and that pieces are delivered without a hitch. Please contact me if you are dissatisfied at all, and I will work with you to find a solution.

Do you ship outside the United States?

My shippers are all ground shippers, and do not ship outside the United States mainland. If you live outside this area and wish to purchase an item, please contact me directly before purchasing, and I will try to work with you to see if it will be possible.

Care instructions

WATER SPILLS & DAILY USE:
Clean water spills promptly and protect from heat.
Although chalk-based painted products are water
resistant, they are not impervious to water.
Coasters are recommended to protect from water
and pot holders from heat . Take care when
placing items on table tops.

CLEANING YOUR FINISH:
Use a water-damp cloth for regular cleaning. Do
not clean until the finish has cured completely (30
days). If surface requires deep cleaning due to
grease/grime, add a speck of detergent or a bit of
vinegar. Avoid using oil-soap or silicone based
daily cleaners such as Pledge, Endust or
Murphy’s Oil. Always avoid the use of furniture
polishes, dusting sprays or oil soaps as they may
contaminate the finish.

A Note about Antique and Vintage Furniture

Antique furniture is often sturdier than new, making them a wonderful choice to invest in for long-term wear and use.

Almost all of the new pieces found in stores are usually made of flimsy particle board, that easily break under pressure. When I refinish my antique and vintage furniture, I make sure the piece stands firm and doesn't wobble; the drawers all operate and do not have any major issues. This often requires repair work and sometimes replacing a drawer bottom, hinges, or other minor details. I make sure they are always operational and as smooth as I can get them to be, given their age. There are sometimes very minor surface imperfections due to age, but this just contributes to the piece's overall beauty and character.
