About

My Bookbinding Journey

I learned bookbinding from my Mom, who honestly was just trying to keep me from going crazy with boredom when I was home from college one summer. I had always been into making art, but making something functional really clicked with me. I got into researching and trying different historical book binding structures, shopping for unusual papers, looking for odd materials to adapt to my craft. Soon a summer project turned into a much needed creative outlet. Best of all I've found that showing my work to people that I don't know has made me perfect my skills, try new things, and really find my specific voice as an artist.
