5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely love this pattern! Wonderful instructions and beautiful garment. I've made it twice now! I will say it did require more fabric than anticipated (about 5 yards) but that could be based on the size I used and the sizing of the fabric.

Great work Maggie! I LOVE what you’ve done with the dress in this fun color and it makes me smile to see you’ve enjoyed it enough to make TWO! I have found as well that fabric requirements can sometimes be a bit more of an art than a science, and do vary, but I try my best with the estimates I include. Thanks for sharing the pics and can’t wait to see Affogato #3 :)

5 out of 5 starsClear, easy to follow pattern. I used it as a base for a dragonfruit Halloween costumer and it turned out fantastically. Thank you!

That’s so exciting Shannon! Happy to hear it was as fun to wear as part of a costume as it is for everyday wear. Share pics if you can! happy sewing!

5 out of 5 starsThis is such an excellent pattern. The instructions are so easy to read and the ease of construction is flawless. The pattern is fabric hungry but that's to be expected with the volume in the sleeves and skirt. I would definitely recommend.

So glad your sewing of the Affogato was a success! Indeed this pattern can take a high volume of fabric to achieve the full puffed sleeve look (or longer skirt lengths) so for anyone on the fence, we’ve included the “Fabric Requirements” page to the product photos above. Thanks for the recommendation and happy sewing!

5 out of 5 starsAmazingly easy to understand, even for a fairly inexperienced sewer. This was the only pattern I could find for a longer dress that worked with 45" fabrics, and boy am I glad I found it. I feel so empowered to take on sewing projects in the future! I opted to do darts as the pattern optionally includes. I also modified the sleeves to have a longer cuff rather than binding. Lastly, the skirt is a few inches longer than the midi pattern–again, the pattern makes it clear and easy how to lengthen the skirt, bodice, and sleeves as you see fit.

What a wonderful job you did customizing your dress, Tessa! I’m glad you found the instructions easy to follow and had fun with your darts and cuff options. It’s important to me that finding the right length is doable for every size and build, because there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to skirts! The fabric requirements chart (as seen in the product photos above) has options for both 57” and 45” because us sewists just never know what width our new fav fabric is going to come in. I can see from your photo you picked a great fabric and I’m thankful the affogato could be part of your sewing journey :)

5 out of 5 starsPrinting was fine and as I’ve not yet placed together , unable to comment on how well it went. Is exactly what I wanted.

5 out of 5 starsI was so pleased to sew this dress! It came together quickly and had clear instructions. It’s such a beautifully elevated “throw and go” dress! I love everything Ridhima does!! The Affogato dress gets so much wear in my closet and I can’t wait to make more versions
Ridhima responded on Oct 8, 2025
And I love this version you made! Thrilled to hear you made quick work of it. Almost as easy to make as it is to throw on, that’s the goal! Can’t wait to see what you make next :)
