Welcome to my shop, Rustbelt Treasures
♦Authentic American Vintage♦
We are located in Baltimore, MD. Our shop combines my favorite time periods of the 1920s - 1940s, the industrial history of the Rust Belt and Baltimore, for quite a mixture of treasures!
Welcome to our shop.....
As you pull open the faded wood screen door, you hear the creak of time worn hinges, and the tinkling ring of hanging brass bells. As your eyes adjust from the outside sun, you smell the rough cut wood floor under your feet.
Head on over, get yourself a cup of coffee, and have a seat on the velvet sofa by the field stone fireplace. Adjust the tasseled pillows to your liking, and pull up a crate full of well loved books. Relax, while you take in all that surrounds you.
The fieldstone fireplace envelopes the back wall of the shop. The stone is adorned with a barn timber mantle, its wood softened with age and time. Sparkling mecury glass candle pillars gather in oversized groups atop the mantle.
A soft breeze whispers through an open window behind you, the flutter of the lace cotton curtains catch your attention and the next thing you know you are up and on your way across the store.
Your first stop, a rustic jelly cupboard, full of white lace linens and crocheted doilies, so soft to the touch. Next to the linens, draped over a chippy iron bed frame, are once colorful, now worn and faded cotton quilts. Jeweled and crystal cut perfume bottles sparkle on a distressed dresser, along side a variety of picture frames, bell topped bedside clocks, and other what-nots.
Such pretty delicates warmly adorn the industrial items gathered to their left. A seasoned whiskey barrel, full of industrial wood foundry molds, stands among stacks of handcrafted tool boxes, iron gears, barn pulleys, softly frayed rope, hand tools, and so much more...
Back in the corner, angled to accommodate the drawing posture of an engineer, handsomely awaits a vintage drafting table. The table supported by massive iron pedestal legs, is topped with blond wood, engraved by years of use. A wood and steel stool, with its own scars of creativity is partnered with the table. Drafting accessories, an antiqued bronze desk lamp, and several engineer's tools, are gathered upon the top of a wood and iron wheeled shop cart.
Take a look through the Vintage Albums, gathered on the many decorative wood tables throughout the shop. In these albums you will find quite a collection of early 1900's Hollywood Promotional Photos of famous actors. Also included in these albums are Cabinet Card/ CDV photographs, (Studio Portraits), of the very young to the very old, boys and girls, brothers and sisters, men and women, husband and wives and much more.
Behind the counter, among apothecary cabinets that line the far wall, are the newly added "handmade with vintage," items. True vintage items, up-cycled by hand. Each piece painted, gently distressed, waxed and finished by hand for it's time worn journey to continue as a new treasure.
Suddenly I have the urge to go hunting for more vintage treasures! Make yourself at home and take a look around. https://www.etsy.com/shop/rustbelttreasures
