As a vintage kimono collage artist from Japan, my work blends tradition with sustainability by repurposing unwearable kimono fabrics into art. Inspired by my grandmother, who hand-sewed kimonos, and my mother, who crafted garments from kimono silk, I developed a deep respect for these textiles as an artistic medium.
Using heirloom fabrics, I create collages that preserve cultural and sentimental value while addressing fashion pollution and waste. All my products are high-quality printed versions of these unique kimono collage artworks, making them accessible while honoring their original beauty. My art transforms discarded materials into something beautiful, proving that recycling can honor the past while contributing to a more sustainable future.
