Hi and welcome to samsstuff: an eco friendly gift boutique filled with vintage, handcrafted, individualistic & upcycled jewelry, accessories & clothing, each with its own fun little story to tell...

* About my techniques, designs & influences: My favorite technique is to take something that has lost it's original use & turn it into something new & unique, making it fun & useful again, giving it a new story, built on the tale of old. I have a strong interest in the environment. I work in a variety of mediums and crafts, embroidery, crochet & wire wrapping, to name a few. I enjoy creating new pieces, as well as trying out new styles & techniques. I love music, art & photography, history, science, films, travel, new places & people. Any & all of these could be the influence for a new piece. My favorite thing? sending each piece off to a happy new home :)

* Handmade pieces are crafted from a combination of vintage, found & new components, using my own designs & techniques. Vintage items range anywhere in era, from the 30's & 40's & into the 80's, some are handmade & most are family pieces. There are antiques here, as well. All pieces a completely finished & comfortable to wear, no loose or irritating wires or pieces. Items are made in a currently smoke & pet free environment.

* I donate a portion of each sale to Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to research, outreach & publicizing an issue that affects so many.

samsstuff: True Stories & Tall Tales

This little shop started back in 2008, as a home for my creative interests & vintage finds. I wanted a creative outlet & a possible place for my son to work, after my job as a supervisor for a store in a chain of bookstores disappeared into the recession. I have since found another job, but one day, maybe...
I love creating something new out of found & vintage items, giving them a new life & a story to tell. My favorite materials are found objects, vintage finds, natural/organic & locally sourced. As for vintage finds: there's almost nothing more fun than scouring the area for amazing & interesting things for you to see. Many vintage items are family pieces that I am glad to find a new home for.
My little stories grew out of a love of writing & shop photos have evolved, through the amazing world of cameras & art, though 'product photography' is an evolving process for me.
