I started in photography the simple way — by pointing my camera at the people I loved. My earliest work was family, especially the children of my siblings, and that joy of capturing real moments is what pulled me into the darkroom. I fell in love with the craft of printing by hand, watching images slowly appear on paper I could tint, paint, and turn into something more personal.
Over time, New Orleans became my muse. The architecture, the people, the colors, the street‑tile lettering — all of it felt alive in a way no other place does. I photographed my neighborhood the way you photograph someone you care about: with affection, curiosity, and a little humor.
After Katrina, everything changed. So much of the old city was damaged or gone, and I found myself wanting to piece my neighborhood back together in any way I could. Salvage and upcycled wood weren’t just materials — they were survivors. They were fragments of the New Orleans I knew, still standing, still worth honoring. Working with them felt like giving those pieces a second life.
Today my art is simple, rustic, colorful, and a little humorous — just like the city itself. I create street‑tile style signs, prints, and switchplates using my photography and reclaimed wood. My goal is always the same: to make something that makes people smile. If my work brings a little joy, a little memory, or a little piece of New Orleans into someone’s home, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
This is my way of preserving the spirit of the city I love — one print, one sign, one rescued piece of wood at a time.

5 out of 5 starsI am so pleased with this purchase. The Joie De Vivre large sign arrived within a week — ordered, shipped, and delivered so quickly. It was packaged perfectly and efficiently, and the sign itself is even lovelier than I hoped. I hung it immediately in my outdoor room, and it looks like it has been there forever, which is exactly what I wanted. Wonderfully made, high quality, and truly a joy to receive.
