About

September Project: The Gist

September Project is all about unique and honest messaging (i.e., stuff you actually think and want say to the people you care about) delivered simply and beautifully in a way that lets the words do the talking. Most importantly, my products are made from 100% recycled and FSC-certified materials--from the premium 100 lb cardstock down to the packaging--so if your card doesn't make it into someone's memory box, at least you don't have to feel bad about wrecking the environment. I believe wholeheartedly in showcasing the fact that you don't have to compromise on quality or style to be environmentally conscious.

What's with the name?
Everything wonderful that has happened to me seems to happen in September: I got married in September, my son was born in September, I wrote my first novel in September...and I opened this shop in September!

A Note on Style
The aesthetic for these cards comes from the paper products I created for my own wedding, before I knew I even had it in me to create paper products! I wanted a simple, words-only style with a vintage, rustic appeal using a cool font, and I've followed those same principles as inspiration for September Project. The overwhelming response I've received for my cards confirms what I suspected...you guys like to keep it simple, too.

I write and ship all of my cards from my home. I address each envelope by hand because I think there's nothing better than receiving a handwritten note in the mail! Most importantly, all of my materials are made of 100% recycled paper.

I love working with The Printing House because their business practices are in line with my commitment to make truly environmentally friendly cards. They are 100% Canadian owned and operated, and are rated the #1 sustainable printer in Canada.
