From illustration, to collage to painting, the common thread is layering - texture, colour, opacity.
Hardly a day goes by when I'm not drawing or designing something. Ideas wake me up in the middle of the night. A lot of my obsessions are your obsessions, like bold colour blocks, circles and geometric shapes, and Mid-century imagery from Eames to the French New wave. My love of ceramics means I draw a lot of them, their curvy shapes and myriad of handles. When I’m making a new print I feel like an interior stylist in a way, arranging shapes and objects. It gives me a lot of joy. I hope you can see it in my work, through my abstract prints, children’s prints and cards.
Art is such a personal choice and says a lot about who you are and what you like. It can also be a real talking point. My prints are a really good way to start your collection. I often design my prints as a series, so you can set two or three together to make a focal point for your room. I get really excited when I get something framed and up on the wall, I have a few clusters of collections dotted around the house, all different sizes, cards too.
A strong element of my work comes from childhood experience. There are images I remember strongly from picture books or my bedroom walls. I want my kids to grow up with those kinds of memories too, so I design prints for children's rooms that hopefully parents and children will both love and remember.
From initial drawings to print to packaging, everything is done in my home studio in London. I love what I do and I want you to feel that when you open your package.
Each card set is tied with bakers twine. Then I add a hand-written thank you, because I care about those things :-)
I'm very customer focused and my feedback is very important to me. If someone writes to say thank you, it makes my day. And I love it when customers email me photos of their prints framed and up on their wall. You can tag me on Instagram if you like.
Thanks for swinging by :-)
