Sidirom is about the beauty in the simple things
What amazes me the most about crocheting is the endless possibilities for creation that emerge from the colaboration of such a basic tool as the crochet hook with a string of fiber.
A few years ago i started experimenting with materials and forms other than the traditional laces and doilies to see what may come out.
I appreciate a lot the comfort and clarity of simple lines which i try to apply to my designs.
I started to imitate ropes, nautical knots and chains in my jewelry and accessories
I was inspired by the numerous ferry voyages i take each year to visit the island where my mother comes from. Our family bonds are tight and my jewelry refer to these loving and caring relationships as well.
On the other hand, life in the city has to offer a lot of inspiration and influence as well. Fringe jewelry and "Savages" accessories came as a result of this influence. Currently i am working on a series of jewelry inspired by different cities of the world.
Appart from "sidirom" i am a crochet teacher as well. Since the chain of mother - daughter apprentice has broken the last years i thought it would be nice to help spread my knowledge and it's benefits to other people. And while crocheting and running my etsy store is a rather lonely task, crochet lessons keep me in touch with so many different and interesting people, i couldn't be happier about that.
Thank you so much for taking the time to know me and my creative process a little better!
