It all started April of 2020 on my 14th birthday during Covid. Stuck in the house for two weeks, I decided to ask for something to do, like a craft or a book. My parents got me a bracelet making kit. In the beginning, I had so much fun creating all these designs of bracelets and giving them to my sisters and cousins. Soon enough the kit wasn't enough for me. I wanted a few more supplies so the jewelry could look really organized. After working hard on my bracelets I decided to make an instagram to post the things I made. I started posting cool pictures and reels. Eventually one reel got a good amount of likes and people told me to sell my jewelry. I talked to my dad and we set up and etsy together. My business name was BeachyBeadsCo. I posted all the bracelets I made and I was so proud. 6 months of the business goes by and I had no sales. That didn't stop me. I was making jewelry because I enjoyed it. Finally in late October 2020 I got my first sale. It was so exciting. I packaged it with so many freebies I probably didn't even make any money, but to me that's not what mattered. I continued to make new products with no sales. In January 2021, I wasn't as passionate about my business. I didn't post on Instagram as much, I stopped making new products, and I left my Etsy unnoticed. In the beginning of summer, I realized I missed doing my business things so I decided to start up my etsy again and work on making new products. I bought a chain, charms, earring hooks, and new beads and made new products, all while posting on Instagram. In November 2021 an Instagram reel went viral with tons of likes and I was getting sales upon sales. My products were cheap, easy to make, and affordable to me too. As much as I loved what I sold, I wanted to make items that fit the theme that I wanted. I wanted a beach themed business with waterproof, good quality products. Throughout the New Year I did a ton of research and bought new high quality and waterproof supplies. I made all new products while hiding the new drop from my Instagram. My family went on a beach vacation and I took more pictures then any storage could handle. Soon after, my release happened. I released a ton of really good quality products while posting them both on my etsy, Instagram, and TikTok. I was so excited that I had finally found my theme and what my target audience wanted.
I keep my supplies good quality from then on. All my rings are tarnish free, meaning your finger won't turn green when you wash your hands. All handmade necklaces can be worn in the ocean and shower because the good quality chain and charms allows for it to be guaranteed to not tarnish. All earrings are made with 18k gold filled hoops and sterling silver. The charms and hoops on earrings are also able to be worn in the ocean due to the good quality. All jewelry products are hypoallergenic and nickel free so anyone is able to wear it.
