Doing what makes me happy!

I've always liked to draw and paint, ever since I was a little kid. Back then it was a lot of girls and horses, and each one was named! My dad is an artist, too, and provided a lot of inspiration back then.
When it was time to figure out what to do with my life I always felt it was hard to figure out. I never really felt passionate about a career to pursue. I studied a couple subjects, but I can't say I use my degrees in what I do now (which is working at a cancer treatment center part-time). I threw myself into the family thing - the kids got a lot of attention, but as they got older and I got older, I realized I needed to do something that really made me happy. So, I decided to paint and draw again.
At first I painted things in our house (even the stairs to the attic), but I realized I had too many ideas that we had room for. I decided that maybe I could try to sell them, and voila! I participated in a couple art fairs and finally opened an Etsy shop.
I called my business Singularly because I don't like to do the same thing again and again. I keep being inspired to paint new stuff. In addition, since I use recycled items, nothing is ever the same. So check out some of the items I have on the site. I go through waves a lot, like fairytales and dragons and bees... If you check back in I might be on to something completely different!

I am a WA artist who has taken a life-long hobby and started selling furniture that I have refinished and hand-painted with designs ranging from fairy tales to nature. I am also a mother of two boys and work part-time in a cancer treatment center.
