Doodle addict
I was born in 1973, a very colourful year which I think rubbed off on me!
I love to PLAY with a very wide variety of materials and media and don't want to be tied down to being a "jeweller" or a "wire artist" or a "collage artist" or an "illustrator" - that would make me feel so restricted.
Every medium I use is just as important to me as the next.
I spend a LOT of time simply "doodling" (mainly on the backs of envelopes and scraps of paper lying about) which I feel is the most important aspect of all my art practice.
My ambitions when I was little were to be an artist and live by the sea and happily I am doing both of those things!
I took off to art college when I was 19 and studied ceramics, jewellery design and surface pattern but it was after I left that I felt really free to just make and draw whatever I wanted. I've never stopped creating and my day feels odd if it ends without me having at least done a doodle on a scrap of paper.
