Spindle Cat Studio at New Jersey's Sheep and Fiber Festival
Hand Made for You!
It's the cat's fault. Really.
Once upon a time, a long haired kitten captured my heart. While combing the shaggy little guy's fur I absentmindedly twisted a bit of soft fluff between my fingers and tugged lightly on it. Cool. Cat "yarn". I wondered... could I learn to spin to make more? That moment marked my entry into the warm, creative and wonderfully obsessive world of fiber and its tools.
Spindle Cat Studio has progressed from making hand painted spindles to hand spun and hand dyed yarn. Dyeing led to the creation of Spindle Cat Studio's Signature Tabby series superwash yarn where a skein of yarn looks like a calico cat. I've taken a break from dyeing for a bit and have concentrated on creating stitch markers as well as some handy tools. Lately I seem to be coming up with new designs for shawl pins and hair sticks.
Check back, because this story is a work in progress...
