Spring Olive fue creada en 2008 por Olivia Samson, una diseñadora gráfica con un amor por el papel, un talento para crear ilustraciones dibujadas a mano y un deseo de difundir algo de alegría. Después de aprender las artes de la tipografía y la serigrafía en 2007, se enganchó. Para Olivia, convertir su pasión y habilidades en una tarjeta de felicitación y un negocio de regalos parecía correcto, y nació Spring Olive.
Nos enorgullecemos de crear diseños únicos. Todas las ilustraciones son ideadas y dibujadas por Olivia utilizando una combinación de herramientas de la vieja escuela (lápiz y papel) y de la nueva escuela (escáner y computadora). Spring Olive was created in 2008 by Olivia Samson, a graphic designer with a love for paper, a talent for creating hand-drawn illustrations, and a desire to spread some cheer. After learning the arts of letterpress and screenprinting in 2007, she was hooked. For Olivia, turning her passion and skills into a greeting card and gift business just seemed right, and Spring Olive was born.
We take great pride in creating unique designs. All illustrations are dreamed up and drawn by Olivia using a combination of old-school (pen and paper) and new-school (scanner and computer) tools. All cards are letterpress printed one at a time on an antique Vandercook press. We pay a lot of attention to the smallest details to make sure everything is just right, from choosing the perfect paper and ink colors to making sure the finished pieces are as good as (and hopefully even better than) imagined.
Olivia learned early on the importance of focusing on the good parts of life, of giving thanks, of cherishing friends and embracing family. The products she offers through Spring Olive mirror this hopeful sentiment. Olivia gathers inspiration for her designs from her heritage, her travels and from everyday life: an intricate ornament on the facade of a building, a vintage book at an antique store, a fresh bouquet of in-season flowers. Inspiration is everywhere you look for it.
