I take great pride in presenting my work in a way that fits with my style & is pleasing for my customers to receive.
Mrs. R. Petherbridge's continuing adventures in Steampunk.
Ever since I can remember, I've loved steam engines, gadgets and gizmos - it wasn't until about a decade or two ago that I knew there was a name for it - Steampunk!
I think it started with films like The Time Machine, Clash of the Titans - I was intrigued by Bubo, the mechanical owl - and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which I watched purely for the car and Caractacus Potts' inventions.
I've also always been crafty - I'm never happier than when I'm making something and in the "real world", I'm a glass artist by trade, making pretty things from molten glass (you can see my glass in my other Etsy shop: janehamill.etsy.com ). Now I have the time, workspace and resources, I want to start applying the skills I have to making Steampunk creations and then move on to learning some new ones. I've always wanted to try leathercraft, so I'm looking forward to that. I will also, however, have to remember how to use a sewing machine at some point...
I'll be happy to have you along for the journey!

Returns and exchange details
If an item is returned via the postal service as uncollected or undelivered, the customer will be given the choice to have the item resent at their cost or for me to keep the item and issue a refund of the original cost of the item, excluding the original postal charges.
In the event that any order is incorrect, the customer must notify me within 30 (thirty) days after delivery. I abide by the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR). If I have made a mistake or if the product is faulty or damaged, the product shall be returned to me at my cost (First Class). Please obtain proof of posting and please ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage. I will send a replacement at my own cost or issue a full refund.
The customer has the right to return an item for any other reason, whether it's not as expected or they have simply changed their mind as long as the customer informs me of their intention within 14 days of receipt of the order. The customer agrees to pay for the postage to return the goods to me, as per the DSR, via Royal Mail First Class Tracked & Signed For (non-UK customers should use an equivalent tracked, insured, signed-for service) with proof of postage. This cost shall not be refunded.
For items over the value of £30 (30 GBP) the items must be returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery. Non-UK customers must use a tracked, insured and signed-for service. This cost shall not be refunded.
When returning the items, please obtain proof of posting and please ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage. Please ensure correct postage is paid - I will not pay the fee to obtain a package returned without correct postage.
Non EU customers *must* label the package on any customs forms as "returned goods", so that customs do not demand an import/VAT charge. If the customer fails to do this and there is a customs charge on the return, this will be deducted from any refund due.
If a refund is due, the refund or a credit note will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the returned items, to the cost of the goods being returned and including any postage costs incurred when sending the original order.
If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to me and this results in damage or deterioration, I will charge you for the reduction in value. This does not cover the unsealing of packaging necessary in order for you to inspect the goods.
Refunds are not available on custom-made items.
An order will not be considered as lost and therefore no refund issued until it meets the carrier's definition of lost as per their terms and conditions of their service.
Payment
Shipping
The days refer to working days, which excludes weekends and public holidays.
Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed unless previously agreed before orders are placed.
It is the customer's responsibility to provide a correct shipping address during the checkout process. If the address is sent to the wrong address because the customer supplied the wrong details, the customer will not receive a refund.
Any items returned to me due to an incorrect, outdated, or insufficient address or that have not been collected by the buyer following attempted delivery, will incur new shipping charges, or will be refunded minus the original shipping charge (personalised/custom orders are not refundable/returnable). I will only ship to the address shown on the order.
UK shipping is via Royal Mail's First Class services.
International orders are sent by Royal Mail's International services. According to Royal Mail’s website, delivery to Europe is within 3 to 5 working days of posting and to the rest of the world within 5 to 7 working days of posting. However, this refers to the time for the package to arrive in the country of destination and not subsequent Customs clearance and onward transmission by local postal services, which unfortunately can take much longer (4-6 weeks in some cases).
Most international orders arrive within around 10-20 business days, however please note that I cannot obviously guarantee a delivery date and I am not responsible for delays due to Customs. Please allow extra time for your parcel to arrive around seasonal events or public/bank holidays.
The customer is responsible for paying any tax, import duties and/or customs charges that may be levied on overseas orders.
Orders are usually posted very first thing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and so the cut off time for items to be posted on those days are 9pm (UK time) the day before. If you need your item in a hurry, please do contact me to let me know and I will make a special run on Tuesdays or Thursdays where possible.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that I strive to represent all my artwork accurately in my photographs and make them as representative as possible. I photograph all my work under professional lighting in order to show the colours and textures in my work to their full effect. Note that the colours may vary under different lighting conditions or when displayed on different monitors.
If anything is damaged when it reaches you, contact me immediately but no later than 14 days after they reach you so I can raise a claim with the carrier.
Minor repairs to jewellery items are free of labour charge. However, if I need to use any materials during the repair, these will be charged at cost. The customer will be responsible for secure carriage in both directions.
Please note, my work is not suitable for children.

Privacy
You can read Etsy’s Privacy Policy here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/legal/privacy
~~~Information I Collect~~~
To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.
~~~The Legal Base for Information Collection~~~
The General Data Protection Regulations (May 2018) (EU) (known as GDPR 2018 throughout the rest of this Policy) requires that I explain the legal bases I rely on to collect, use, and share your personal information.
This may include a buyer’s affirmative consent to receive marketing messages, compliance with legal obligations, and a seller’s use of the personal information in their legitimate interests (improving their services, for example). Throughout this privacy policy, I will explain where and why I rely on these different legal bases
~~~Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It~~~
I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
• if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as
1. providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and
2. Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
~~~Information Sharing and Disclosure~~~
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy: I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies (Royal Mail). I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:
(a) respond to legal process or to government requests;
(b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies;
(c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or
(d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
~~~Data Retention~~~
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements.
I generally keep your data for a minimum of 1 year following consent / purchase date, and for a maximum period of 7 years following consent / purchase date.
For tax purposes, I store an electronic copy of Etsy invoices on a small private network that is accessible only from within my business premises and is password protected.
~~~Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU~~~
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the UK and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction.
If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU (my email is hosted by Google.com, thus any emails I received regarding your order are handled outside of the EU) I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
~~~Your Rights~~~
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
• Access: You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
• Change, restrict, delete: You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (e.g. where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
• Object: You can object to
(i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and;
(ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
• Complain: If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
~~~How to Contact Me~~~

I am the data controller for two Etsy shops only – janehamill.etsy.com and steamjunque.etsy.com.
