This year's shop offers collections of hand-dyed (procion dyes) natural fabrics and threads, also dyed with procion dyes. The threads and fabrics are washed repeatedly, with the final washes in the washing machine, to remove as much dye as possible. Many of the fabrics are reclaimed from old clothing, washed, often dyed, and given a new opportunity to shine. They are packaged in small groups by color associations, some including embroidery thread to match or contrast. The threads are dyed or over-dyed embroidery threads, some smooth and familiar (flosses, perles), others have a slight texture (silks and silk blends, linens, cottons). There are also buttons, mother-of-perle or plastics, and vintage trims and laces. They are all threads and fabrics I have used for years in my own work, and I offer them here for those who create individual or original work. Most of the colors are non-repeatable, which is the hallmark of those who dye for pleasure rather than large productions.

On a personal note: I would be remiss if I did not thank Cynthia Patrick for her enormous help and unflagging support for getting the shop from idea to reality. Didn't she do a lovely job on the banner?
