I began carving small wildlife, anatomy and paleontology sculptures in the days before computer aided creation. As new technologies have became available, I've done my best to learn to use them to create products that I could not have made by traditional means.

With each new piece, I try to improve the accuracy, complexity and uniqueness of my product line. Recently I have begun branching out into other scientific fields, such as microbiology, immunology, geology and more.

Here I am at my somputer, working on my choanoflagellate rosette colony necklace

sculpting science

I studied biology in school, but I turned out to be much better at sculpting than I was at chemistry, and so here I am!

Researching, designing, and making these items is a lot of fun, and I hope it shows! My goal is to make pieces you will want to hold and play with, and which will also have genuine educational value!

When I first began to create my product line, computer-based modelling tools were not as good or as widely available as they are today, so I had to carve everything by hand. Now that technology makes sculpting (and especially sculpting at a small scale) much easier, I have tried to keep-my skill set current, and to supplement traditional methods with new ones in order to create ever more complex and unique portable educational artworks!
