Announcement   I have been carving small wildlife, anatomy and paleontology sculptures for over 15 years. With each new design, I try to improve the accuracy, complexity and uniqueness of my products! Recently I have begun branching out into other scientific fields, such as microbiology, immunology, geology and more.

In addition to the work I have on Etsy, I have also done a wide variety of other art projects, some of which you can see here: http://www.ctaylorart.net/

I love the way this keychain looks. It's a bit heavier than I expected which is fine. My only small dislike is that it opens really easily. I thought there would've been a pseudo-locking or latching mechanism to keep it closed until one wanted to open it. But all in all, I'm very happy with it and am happy to gift it.

Absolutely gorgeous all the way around! Nice weight. Beautifully and smoothly finished. It makes me happy to find such fine quality sculptures at such a nice price. I hope to collect some more of your work. Thank you!

About

sculpting science

I studied biology in school, but I turned out to be much better at sculpting than I was at chemistry, and so here I am!

Researching, designing, and making these items is a lot of fun, and I hope it shows! My goal is to make pieces you will want to hold and play with, and which will also have genuine educational value!

When I first began to create my product line, computer-based modelling tools were not as good or as widely available as they are today, so I had to painstakingly carve everything by hand. Now that technology makes sculpting (and especially sculpting at a small scale) much easier, I have tried to keep-my skill set current, and to supplement traditional methods with new ones in order to create ever more complex and unique portable educational artworks!

I am a would-be scientist, turned sculptor and designer. I began college as a biology major, but I spent most of my time making wire sculptures rather than studying chemistry. You can see some of my other projects here: http://www.ctaylorart.net/

I am a would-be scientist, turned sculptor. I began my business back before computer sculpting tools were widely available, carving each piece by hand. Since then, I have adopted new technologies, and have tried to use these technologies to push my work to new levels, creating ever more intricate pieces in a wide range of scientific fields.

I began with a line of wildlife, human anatomy, and paleontology items, but lately I've been branching out. I now have a pretty good selection of products in the fields of microbioloy, geology, archaeology, math and music!

There is a 6.25% sales tax for items shipped to Massachusetts addresses.

If you would like to cancel an order, please let me know before I have shipped it , and I will issue a full refund.
Shipping
I ship everything by US Postal Service First Class Mail, unless you order more than four items, in which case I ship via priority mail (US orders). I have listed that I ship within 1 to 2 business days, but in most cases I will ship same-day if I receive an order before 1:00 pm EST (UTC-5) on weekdays (my local post office is not open on Saturday).

If you are ordering from outside of the United States, please understand that the best I can do is to quickly deliver your order well-packaged and well documented to the post office. You will have a better idea of how your local postal service works than I do. While some countries offer tracking of international First Class packages, many do not, I have shipped a lot of orders to a lot of countries, and have had very few issues, but depending on where you are, some patience may be required!

If you are new to international ordering, please note that sometimes yous government will ask you to pay import duties.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you would like to make a return:

Please message me via Etsy, and then send me the unused item you want to return within 15 days of delivery.
I will credit your debit/credit card or Paypal or Etsy account for price of merchandise only.
Additional policies and FAQs
ENGRAVING:

If you would like me to personalize an item for you, please message me to let me know what you want, and if I am able to do what you propose, I will create a custom listing for you. My charge for this service will be $20 (US), and I will send you an image of the design drawn on the item for approval before proceeding.

I do not have much experience engraving, and cannot guarantee pristine results, but I will do my best! This service is intended for people who want the artist who created the piece to add some amusing little personal touch (a name, date, initials, or perhaps a little drawing). If you want a pristine engraving, you are better off going to a professional, but if you want a handlebar mustache, and some lightning bolts drawn on a hippopotamus, then I'm your man!

UPGRADING:

In addition to new designs, I also, occasionally, create an upgraded version of an existing product in order to make aesthetic and mechanical improvements (i.e.: my single-piece tooth keychain, which I recently released a three-piece locket version of). If you have purchased one of my items, and later see that I have created a new version, you can message or email me with your order number, and I will send you a coupon for 5% off of the new version.

ALTERNATE FUNCTIONS:

If you would like to order one of my keychains as a necklace/pendant, please let me know, and I will provide an adjustable knotted cord (made of 3mm x 1mm imitation suede). I have enabled this as a selectable option for a some of my items which work best as necklaces, but I am willing to convert some of the other items. Certain Items simply do not work as necklaces due to their size and/or shape.

CUSTOM ORDERS:

Because of the significant effort needed to create a design, and to bring it to production, it is usually not worthwhile to me to make a custom item unless it is something that will fit in well with my existing product line, or which is likely to sell well in the future. There are, however, several customization options which are easier than the creation of a unique, new product. These options include, but are not limited to, custom-printed packaging, and laser-etched metal tags.

Customization options are usually only practical for orders of more than 10 pieces, but this will vary depending on the particular case.
