I love my greeting cards! Megan did a beautiful job with the crafting, and the package that they shipped in was just as pretty and thoughtful. I'm so excited for the recipients to receive them!

About

this is More than Making

I am trying to figure out what it means to live life to the fullest. I am trying to find beauty wherever I can. I am trying to find a way to combine the things I am passionate about with the day-to-day reality of work/school/life/financial obligations. I am a married RECENT GRADUATE (whoohoo! five year architecture program at Virginia Tech...Go Hokies!) and I am trying to do something I love.
Some of those things include:

making.creativity.imagination.art.sunlight.words.laughter.
thinking. architecture.coffee.conversation.writing.family.
philosophy.walks.children.reading.theology.time.friendship.
icecream.slowing.organizing.recycling.nature.sheep.swings.
sunrises.sunsets.chocolate.photography.painting.drawing.

When I was a child I was told:
"Megan, you can do anything you put your mind to."
For a while I believed that. I was optimistic, carefree, and laughed often. But something feels like it has shifted over the years. Something heavier, something less colorful and more muted, something that sucks the wonder and imagination and excitement from things. Call it what you will: depression, reality, pessimism, cynicism. This past November, I hit rock bottom. And maybe Etsy isn't the place to be sharing this, but I just need to be honest. Because this is more than just another url to me. This is an attempt at healing, at hope, at remembering that optimism. Remembering what it's like to live.

Thanks for reading.

All my love,
Megan Mills
