About

Combining scraps of fabric into one of a kind quilts that resonate with love, that is my passion.

Daydreaming is my secret key to inspiration. While I garden and commune with my plants and the little garden helpers: ladybugs and worms, I study the leaf formation, the colors of light that play in the rows, and I watch for patterns that appeal to my heart. As I look at the woodpile with its random scattering, I consider quilt designs. I even watch for colorful language that could translate into a picture image, such as the notion of my partner Mike, 'cursing a blue streak.'
I have sewn all of my life, starting as soon as I could handle a pair of scissors and a needle and thread. From doll clothes to my own clothes, to home decorations, I found challenge and satisfaction in creativity. The advent of modern quilting in 1970 swept me up, and I have been swimming in the deep water of the quilt ocean ever since.
I retired from the work force in August, 2011, as my youngest daughter, Caroline, left home for college. I moved to Riggins, Idaho, to live and play with the man in my life. We are building our dream home and a huge garden on a 3 acre mountainside near the Salmon River. The most perfect sewing loft, 450 square feet, will be the upstairs of the cabin.
To compliment Mike's part time river guiding work, I started my home online sewing business, my etsy shop. My oldest daughter, Diane, helped me set up my shop. I learn things from her and from other shop owners that help me have a fun experience with my etsy shop.
