Way back in 2002, Danny was working in a traditional machine shop making everything from blender parts to cannon parts and I was a stay at home mom to our 3 great kids.
One day a local jeweler came into the machine shop requesting a custom order for some titanium rings.
Luckily, Danny was assigned that job and the whole idea of titanium rings peaked his interest enough that he brought one home to see what I thought about it.
To make a long story short, after a few weeks of 'thinking about it' we decided to rent a lathe machine in the evening hours to do side work making/selling titanium rings for a bit of extra money to pay off some debt.
One day that side work grew to be more time consuming than the evening hours could contain, so in 2004, much to the chagrin and warning advice of well-meaning family and friends, Danny quit his job at the machine shop and we bought our own CNC Lathe (and eventually a second one) to venture out on our own in business.
And for some random, possibly weird, FYI's about us and our shop:
**We first decided to call our online store ‘titanium nights’ because our business started out with Danny only able to make rings at night. But Danny thought adding the ‘k’ to the nights made it sound more fancy, hence titaniumknights.
**We make so many different ring styles (over 180 now), that I had to start assigning them numbers to keep track of everything, Danny told me to add the AX in front of each number, probably mostly as a joke, but we did it anyway.
You’ll see the AX# for the style of ring you purchase in each listing.
*We started out listing our rings on another popular site and at the time we listed our first ring for auction there, we were one of only two shops selling titanium rings, so we like to think of ourselves a bit like made to order titanium ring pioneers.
