In this shop, I have for sale, items I have made using old techniques, old tools, and fire. A real HOT fire!
All these items are made of elements such as steel, copper, brass, bone, and various stones.
Why have I chosen iron as a base for for jewelry? Well, that is because I love it! There is something elemental, simple, bold, and raw about it. It’s a material that rarely is used in delicate designs. Forming delicate tapers and flowing curves out of a material, that by nature is so unyielding creates a unique balance, a harmony between that which is hard, and that which is soft.
Adding a second element of a stone or piece of bone (as an example) further helps in the overall impact of that balance.
The color and nature of a beautiful and intriguing stone coupled with the strong bold darkness of iron brings this harmony together. A piece of forged iron has weight, depth, and represents strength. Against the skin you feel its inner warmth and that strength.
We all strive for balance in some form or another on our path in life, I endeavor to create items that represent the beauty of that pursuit of balance.
