A love of antiques and a love of making jewelry merge.
For several years I ran an Etsy shop selling vintage and antique collectibles. I also had a large booth in a local antique shop - and I loved it! I love the hunt for that special piece that's going to pop. I love the feeling of finding something I'd never seen before and researching its history.
A little while after I first became interested in antiquing, I also took a metalsmithing class. I had made beaded jewelry off an on over the years, but that class changed everything. I delved into making chains, setting gems, the whole nine. It was awesome, and it changed the way I thought about creating jewelry and made me take a close look at the vintage jewelry I had accumulated and how it was made. I began to toy with the idea of taking my favorite parts from different pieces and putting them together. I researched voraciously about assemblage jewelry, found object jewelry, upcycled jewelry, etc.. I was in love.
Flash forward to the present! I've been making assemblage jewelry for a while now, sometimes selling at local craft fairs, mostly as gifts. I decided to try, in earnest, to grow a business making interesting, one of a kind pieces with a romantic vibe. I like the unexpected, but I also like a classic piece. I blend old pieces with new findings. I am always learning, always experimenting, always changing it up. What you see here today may be quite different from what you'll see even a year from now - or it may not! - but it is always, and will always be, a labor of love.
