Twisted Fibers Designs was born out of the idea that handmade knits can be fresh, modern, and stylish. I wanted to balance the current trends in knit wear with the quality that comes from carefully selected yarns and the hand made process. Yarn quality is a very important aspect in each piece I create. Natural fibers are my favorite to work with and have the most luxurious feel and look to them. I began knitting about 10 years ago. It started with a gift of yarn, needles, and some printed knitting instructions from my sister. A few trials and a couple of YouTube tutorials later, I was knitting every chance I could get. I first began knitting for my two boys and husband as there never seemed to be enough hats, scarfs, or sweaters geared toward males. As time went on I started receiving several requests from friends and family members for knitted items and decided the next step was to share my passion with others.
I live in a small town outside Cleveland, OH with my husband and two boys. We are fortunate to be surrounded by many small farms that sell the yarn from the animals they raise. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of my yarn suppliers personally and even occasionally getting to pet the animals the fiber comes from.
