What types of glitter mixes does UCAAN Glitter Offer?
We use Polyester glitter for our mixes and thanks to some amazing vendors that we patron for specific glitter that we utilize in our mixes, we are thankful for them!
We have everything from whimsical to cosmic glitter, cancer awareness glitter mixes (which we never can find), specialty & Unique mixes, "under the sea" mixes, "Giving Cancer the Bird" mixes and even some adult mixes. There's a lot to choose from so we hope you have fun shopping and creating.
Why I Choose Glitter & To Donate to a Worthy Cause
I was creative long before I had Cancer. But when I was diagnosed with Rare Terminal cancer at 26, everything i loved to do - creating - I had to take a step back from.
But trust me, it wasn't long before I was up and at it again creating Gifts of HOPE for those I met at the hospital while i fought the disease. I was constantly "gifting" to others, whether it was patients, their families, staff, nurses or doctors, I made it a point to "Share the Hope" the best I could through my love for art.
Fast forward a few uncertain years, as i was never really able to go back to work and as a survivor of cancer I found it difficult to find the right place for my "New Normal" life.
By 2009, I had started a Grassroots Cancer organization called UCAAN - United Cancer Advocacy Action Network. My plan was to create something that didn't exist yet, something outside of the box to help those with cancer.
UCAAN has been impacting the lives of those with cancer since 2009 and through that time we've helped over 10,000 cancer patients nationwide!!
It's true I haven't stopped incorporating my love for art and creativity through this journey either. We've made our own decorations for events, our own gifts for silent auctions, our own gifts of support for those with cancer..... I haven't stopped. All because I incorporated my love for art into UCAAN.
So here we are.... Amid a pandemic, an uncertain world at best. And a very scary time for a Small Grassroots cancer organization like UCAAN. I wanted to incorporate my love for art and creating into a way to bring funds in for the organization.
My love for creating unique pieces through resin, brought me to a new love for glitter. I thought about all the possibilities for glitter: from using them on Nails, to scrap booking, accents on holiday decor around the house, combining with slime, resin and more! I started making my own mixes, ones that I never really saw elsewhere, ones I would definitely buy had it been available elsewhere.
