ABOUT ME
There are two things that I love the most in this world: Animals, Medicine, and Gummy Candies. So naturally, I decided to become a veterinarian! I’m a Canadian veterinary student currently studying abroad in Croatia. Why Croatia? That’s a great question.
...To that, I respond - Why not?
Several reasons lead me to pursue veterinary school abroad, but this decision has opened many more doors and opportunities by forcing me outside my comfort zone. This has been a great thing.

THE PROBLEM
When I began my first year of vet school last year, I had secured about half the money that I needed to pay for the entire duration of vet school. I needed a way to somehow pay for the rest. Even amid a pandemic, my tuition still has to get paid!
Waiting for some genius idea to hit me wasn’t the most realistic option. So I started to look right under my nose. Literally.

THE SOLUTION
Even before creating my Etsy shop, I was already designing and creating my own shirts. I found that most things in-store were either over the top or outside of my budget.
I just wanted a simple shirt with a cute animal embroidered on the chest. Something classic and minimal. Not a colossal print design that takes up the whole shirt. Is that too much to ask for these days?
That’s when I decided to expand my design collection and create the Vet Abroad Shop! Each design is unique and carefully embroidered onto your shirt. I would happily wear any of these shirts myself. In fact, I already do!

With every shirt purchase, you're helping fund my veterinary education while getting a quality shirt with an original touch in return. This is the perfect situation for both of us!
To be fully transparent, my profit margin is around $10 per shirt sold. That means the rest of the cost directly goes toward creating and delivering you a quality product (minus Etsy Fees). I know this may seem unrealistic, but for me to pay for all my education through the Vet Abroad Etsy Shop would mean that I would have to sell around 9,000 shirts! But who knows, maybe it’s not so unrealistic after all.
