Working with Cat was an absolute dream! She made all the flowers for my wedding party and my bridal bouquet. When I opened the package I was nearly in tears with giddiness at how perfect they turned out. She added extra special touches that I never would have thought of, like a little splash of green lichen. My bouquet smelled like a warm summer evening and all I had to do to bring me back down from the hustle and bustle of the day and back in the moment was sticking my face in my bouquet and taking a long deep breath. Cat truly is amazing at what she does. The best part is I now get to keep my bouquet on display as decor in my home as a gorgeous dried arrangement.

About

dried botanical wedding work from Seattle

Hello, I'm Cat of Westerwisp.

I'm Washingtonian born, love being outside and have old folklore and gardening roots. Working with a palette of natural elements, I create memorable wedding and special event florals. Materials are often found, clipped from the garden, gathered on woodland walks, hung to dry. I channel the natural elegance of the Pacific Northwest through truly unique, handmade pieces. Earthy. Intricate. Asymmetric.

Frequently asked questions

Hiring Westerisp, Custom Work and Deposits

Order pieces directly through the Westerwisp shop. At checkout, you will be able to describe your wedding palette and theme, as well as list your wedding date. Place your order at least 4-6 weeks before your event.

The majority of the pieces presented in the shop were originally custom designs. Westerwisp strives to create one of a kind floral work to match your unique aesthetic. Please message Westerwisp with any custom inquiries or to discuss a full wedding set.

///Deposits
Westerwisp accepts a Deposit system. Your first 50% deposit is due at the start of work with the final 50% deposit due after photo approval and before shipping or delivery. First Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations.

Peak Wedding Season Production Times

Westerwisp's peak wedding season is from April through October. All weddings receive an equal amount of detail and care, thus production times may run upwards to 8-10 weeks. Please contact designer Cat Brimhall in regards to your event date if you have any concerns. Westerwisp is always on time.

Advantages of Dried Florals

Dried florals are unique and alternative, yet classic and elegant at the same time. They will not bruise or wilt, do not require water, they are light weight and will survive shipping, travel, cold and hot weather. They have matte, velvet color palettes and photograph beautifully, as well as they look gorgeous on their own or mixed with fresh floral arrangements. Pieces are earthy and fragrant and often include botanicals such as roses, peonies, lavender, sage, eucalyptus and moss. Dried florals will last for a long time after your wedding as home décor or mementos displayed in a shadow box or cabinet.

Shipping (USA and Canada) and Local Delivery

All USA Westerwisp work is shipped via USPS Priority Air mail with tracking and insurance. This takes about 2-3 days once shipped. Shipping to Canada can take up to 2-4 weeks. Canadian customers are responsible for import tariffs.

Pieces are very safely wrapped and arrive in large boxes.

Westerwisp only ships within the USA and Canada (with the exception of Hawaii) due to the use of dried plants. Canadian orders must be placed through the WesterwispBC section or through a custom reserved listing.

Local delivery is available for the greater Seattle area. Contact Cat Brimhall to discuss delivery details.

Allergy and Safety Note

Westerwisp products are made with dried flowers, branches and plants. If you have allergies or sensitivities to plants, Westerwisp products may not be right for you. Floral crowns are intended to be worn over hair, not touching skin.

Please keep Westerwisp florals away from small children and pets, as certain plants might be toxic if ingested (such as eucalyptus).

Adult supervision is required for tie-back flower girl crowns as they have long ribbons at back.

Can you make what is exactly pictured in the listing?

The majority of Westerwisp work is custom and completely one of a kind due to the use of natural plant products. Occasionally I will have to substitute similar florals based off of seasonal availability. I generally send approval photos before shipping to make sure colors and designs match up with expectations. Your wedding day is very important and as a floral designer it is my goal to create something you will cherish.

Dried Floral Care Before the Wedding

Larger pieces such as bouquets and centerpieces should be taken out of their packaging once they arrive to help maintain their shape for the wedding. Smaller pieces such as boutonnieres, combs, crowns and corsages can remain wrapped up in the tissue paper they arrive in. Bouquets can be placed in vases or stored standing up in the box they arrived in (open the box and shape the bouquet) with very gentle paper wrapping around them as pressure-less support. Keep florals in a dark, dry, room temperature location away from high heat, freezing temperatures and bright direct sunlight (which can bleach florals over time). Steam or a few gentle drops of water can be used to re-shape and fluff florals. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Due to the incredibly custom nature of Westerwisp work, refunds are generally not accepted. Photos will be sent before pieces are shipped out for approval. After work has begun, in the event that you must cancel your order, up to 50% can be refunded from your total. First Deposits are not refundable due to cancellations. This accounts for stocking fees, labor, time and material costs. Please contact Westerwisp if you have any questions.
