Once Upon A Time....In New York City
Once upon a time, I began making personalized glass photo pendant necklaces with the hopes of selling a few on Etsy.
When I learned actor Mickey Rourke's dog had passed away, I created one as a token of love for him. I am a huge animal lover myself and know what it feels like to lose a beloved pet.
I sent that necklace to Mr. Rourke, and he wound up wearing it to the 2009 Academy Awards.
As you can imagine, I was in complete shock.
The little pendant got more press than the most glorious of diamonds.
I sold many, many pendants to people who had lost loved ones (pets or otherwise), and it was extremely gratifying to know they would be able to carry a remembrance with them around their necks forever.
In 2011...... After a bout with cancer, I started an animal rescue organization in NYC called Unwanted NYC Pets. This is where my heart lies, in the rescue and rehabilitation of "unwanted" pets. I have since become a certified dog trainer, and pitbull advocate.
Fast forward to 2016, the rescue is still going strong! I continue to dabble with new ideas and crafts on Etsy, although I stopped making those little pendants due to the major competition which followed.
I moved to Athens, GA, to lead a less stressful life and have expanded my offerings in many magical ways.
Spread love, be kind to each other, it doesn't cost a thing.
