Welcome to Zilvera's jewelry shop! Thank you for stopping by.

My jewelry is inspired by nature, its beauty and diversity. It is original, colorful and single edition. All my pieces are designed and implemented by me, in my home atelier. My own cats are great sources of inspiration for my cat jewelry.

The name "Zilvera"comes partially from "zilver" (silver in Dutch) and partially from "Vera" which means "true" or "genuine" in Latin. My philosophy is offering "true" silver and other materials, like gemstones. I am not a big fan of silver-filled or silver-plated and never advertise these materials as silver.

I procure from reputable suppliers to be certain the materials in my jewelry don't harm the earth or the people who work with them. Quality goes over quantity. Sustainability over one-day trends. In many of my pieces recycling techniques are used. Such as for instance the Dutch Delft Method of clay casting. If you have old silver at home - broken or just worn out in any sense - you can order a piece made of your own metal, giving it a second life.

My etsy shop was opened in December 2010. Selling jewelry is not an easy business! Nevertheless I don't give it up, hoping that one day all my pieces will find their - happy - wearers. And that will make me very happy too.

It goes without saying that all my jewelry pieces have a quality guarantee, provided they are properly handled. If something breaks unexpectedly, I will repair it free of charge or issue a refund.

I also like communicating with buyers on any issue. Such as customization, care for silver and gemstones and even repairs. Every kind of feedback is welcome since it helps me to grow in my craftsmanship.

Welcome to Zilvera's jewelry. If you are looking for the jewelry which is truly handmade, unique and friendly - towards the wearer and towards the environment - you are at the right address.

My items are designed and handcrafted by myself in my small atelier located in a Dutch loft. Each piece is absolutely one of a kind. It also means that two pieces in a pair or in a set cannot be absolutely identical due to variations in materials and processing. For instance, two hand-cut gemstones used in a pair of dangles, inevitably vary in size and color.

I use quality materials and techniques which do not harm the nature, my own health, and last but not least - the health of the wearer, All materials and components are explicitly named in the product description. In my opinion, honesty lives the longest.

If you are allergic to certain materials like sterling silver, I can, where technically possible, customize such parts as ear hooks making them of fine silver or surgical steel.

I test wear every piece to feel it. You can also see some pictures where I act as a model for my jewelry. After test-wearing all these pieces get meticulously cleaned with soap, hot water, and in some cases, with alcohol and pickle. Leather necklaces are never test-worn on naked skin since they can not be cleaned properly.

Returns and exchange details
I. Cancellations before shipment

No problem. As I normally ship within 1-2 days, you really need to make up your mind fast before the item has been shipped.

II. Item arrived and it is not (quite) what you have expected. Or you simply don't like it.

I try to depict every item in my shop as accurately as possible. With at least 8 photographs of decent size and resolution and detailed descriptions.

However, photographs and real-life differ. Not all details can be shown in 2D. Deviations in color are also possible due to different light. Stones used in the same pair of earrings can be slightly different. It is handmade and not machine-made jewelry, so these things happen.

We use different measurement units here in Europe, this can cause misunderstandings too.

So if the jewelry piece does not meet your expectations, please contact me and we shall look together how to resolve this issue.

You can also just send it back: the EU buyers have this right automatically during 14 days from purchase. They don't even have to state the reason.
However, the buyer will have to pay the costs of the return shipment. The refund of the purchase price takes place as soon as the item has arrived at zilvera's and it has been confirmed. No item, no refund.

III. Item arrived and it is broken

This can happen, unfortunately, for different reasons such as damage during transport, design or fabrication defect. Unless you deliberately put the piece between the hammer and the anvil, all defects are my responsibility as the maker.

Please contact me asap with a clear description/ photographs of the problem.

In this unfortunate case, you as the buyer have the following options:
a) send it back, complete with all (broken) parts. As soon as the item arrives at zilvera's, the full, including shipment, refund will take place.
b) repair free of charge. In this case, all shipping expenses, including the return shipment to and from zilvera, will be mine.

IV. Item is broken during wear

Normally zilvera is not responsible for any damage during the wear, neither for the damage to the items themselves nor for the damage which may be caused by the articles (for instance, when unintentionally swallowing it).
However, if the item gets broken when worn for the first time, it is clearly my responsibility too. In this case, III applies. Please don't wait with contacting me in this matter, since "wearing for the first time" is not very likely to happen months after purchase.

V. Item never arrived

In case of a registered shipment, it is possible to track the shipment to find out whether it has been delivered or not. In case of a regular shipment, the buyer should present sufficient proof that (s)he never received the item.

But at the end of the day, it is my responsibility that you receive (and enjoy) your beautiful piece of jewelry. Please contact me for a solution: a replacement or a (partial) refund.
Payment options: Direct Checkout, PayPal or bank transfer. I invite my Dutch buyers to pay per bank transfer since it is free of charge for all.
All my listings are free shipping guarantee. It means that the shipment is included in the price. But of course, the shipment is not free. For instance, postal charges from the Netherlands to the USA are 20 USD with track and trace. Jewelry with a value of USD 75 or more is always shipped with track and trace. Want an upgrade such as FedEx or DHL? All is possible, at an extra cost.
Additional policies and FAQs
The buyer is responsible for any additional charges such as VAT, sales tax or customs fees, charged by Etsy on my behalf.
