Statement five circle solid silver pendant. 5.5mm bezel set red ruby. Chunky handmade 5mm thick chain. Unique hallmarked 50th birthday gift.

This is a recycled silver choker necklace. It is simple yet really makes a statement. It features a large round 'swirly' circles pendant hanging from a chunky handmade chain. The pendant is set with a 5.5mm ruby. It is diamond cut and a stunning rich red colour. When it catches the light it sends out masses of red flashes.

The swirly pendant is made out of 5 circles soldered together to form an off centre eccentric design. The circles are made from argentium wire which has been lightly hammered to give extra sparkle. I used argentium because I believe it is far superior to sterling silver. Argentium is so white and shiny it looks as if it is rhodium plated. And is is also tarnish resistant so you don’t have to worry about getting it wet.

The chain is handmade from fine silver. The links are made from 1mm thick wire and are 4.5mm round so the chain is very chunky. It is very strong and won't break unless it put under extreme stress. Fine silver is also tarnish restist and is hypoallergenic , it won't turn your neck green. It fastens with a 13mm lobster clasp made from sterling silver.
If you want to buy the pendant on it's own I will fit two jump rings with an internal diameter of 4mm. If you need larger ones please let me know in notes to seller section.

The ruby is set in a handmade bezel. Bezel setting is my favourite way of setting stones. I think they are much more sleek and attractive than claw settings. And they are also much more secure. If just one claw comes loose on a claw setting the gemstone will fall out. Bezel set gemstones will never fall out.

If purchased with the handmade chain the necklace is fully hallmarked with my personal hallmark so you can be sure it is silver. A lot of jewellery from abroad (Bali, Thailand, Mexico, Turkey Greece etc) isn't hallmarked because it isn't high enough quality to be able to get a one. The item may be stamped 925 but that means nothing. Without a hallmark it could be any type of metal. Because the chain is so chunky at 15 inches it weighs 17 grams. Every extra inch of chain adds a gram to the weight.

Circles symbolise eternal love so this pendant would make a wonderful present for someone you love who likes unique jewellery. It could be a 50th birthday gift or a 40th wedding present. And ruby is the birthstone for July.

This ruby is laboratory grown. It is identical to the natural stone in every way including chemistry, composition & hardness. IMO lab gemstones are nicer than many natural gemstones as they don't have any imperfections.
