The Ancient Akuaba Fertility Pendant is strung on a 19 inch black rubber cord that extends to 20 3/4 inches with a lobster clasp closure. If you want to dress this look up a bit you can slip the pendant off of this cord and swap it out for your favorite chain. The beautifully crafted brass pendant measures 1 1/4 inches long (30mm) and 1/2 inch wide (13mm). The Akuaba originated from Ghana, West Africa. They were originally made as dolls that were carried on the back of women either hoping to conceive a child, or to ensure the attractiveness of the child being carried. This is a good luck charm that would look great on men and women and has a great ethnic look! If you need the length of the cord shortened please contact me directly or leave information in the note to seller upon checkout.
The necklace comes packaged in a recycled magazine gift envelope hand made by me, making it a great gift for any occasion!
