I'm Mary Jane Lillie and am lucky to live in Dorset in a cottage surrounded by some rather stunning countryside. I have a daughter who is working in Europe and a son who is studying Geology in The West Country. Apart from those joyful times when my family visits and everything comes to a standstill, I spend much of my time working from home in a lovely little room at the top of the house.
I have always enjoyed looking at and admiring all the beautiful colours and textures in nature and trying to convey them creatively but it wasn't until I began to use a variety of pure wool tops that I really began to get inspired.. Using natural products and recycling has always been important to me and I have always appreciated handmade goods that reflect the personality of the maker. I also love using watercolour paints, an unforgiving medium at times but one that can produce a fluidity and transparency that no other medium can hope to copy.
All my felt, gifts and art works are handmade by me with care and attention to detail. The products will not be perfectly machine made by their very nature but each will have a unique appeal with an artisan look.
