We're all about bespoke. We can work with you to 'build a bow' from scratch, souring a fabric that meets your brief, and giving you choices on neck size, clasp finish, tie width, personalised messages and so on. You can even supply your own fabric if you choose. Whatever your needs, we'd be happy to hear from you.

All of our bow ties are masterly handmade in our studio in Nottingham, England.

All of our bow ties are available as a self tie or pre-tied for men, or an adjustable baby, toddler or boys size.

Arsenic & Old Lace is a little company with a big passion...

There are a few things that are really important to us: quality, creativity, originality and uniqueness. Everything we sell is masterly hand-sewn and finished in our studio in Nottingham, England; a city that has always been famed for its textiles and lace industries. We provide top-notch, handmade, vibrant accessories in time-honoured prints to the illustrious guy (and gal). Each one of our prints is named after a town, city or village based in the midlands, England.

What sets us apart from other sellers is our fabric. In fact, it’s all about our bold statement fabrics that are 'Knot for the faint-hearted!' Many of our products are made using the finest textiles from a by-gone era, and masterfully re-purposed into original bow ties, neckties, pocket squares and accessories!

We only make very limited runs of each item, and many are one-of-a-kind. There's very little chance you'll turn up to an event wearing the same piece as someone else when you're sporting our gear...that's just not our style. And they aint for the plain James! They're bold, vibrant, and will certainly stand you out from the crowd.

Each item includes a little discreet label of authenticity and care card, and is carefully packaged into a recycled brown gift-box, tied with lace ribbon and hand stamped.

Custom and personalised orders

Please note: as all items are made to order, unfortunately I cant offer a refund if you change your mind as I'll have probably started to work on it. If however, you feel that the item has been falsely described or is faulty then please drop me a message to let me know, and I'll give you a return address. You will be responsible for the postage costs in the first instance, but upon receipt of the returned item I will refund all costs incurred if for the reasons above. Refunds will be issued within 5 working days. Please mark the outer packaging with the word RETURN when returning. Items must be sent in original condition and packaging.

Shipping outside of Europe

Your delivery should take between 7 - 14 working days. Please note that this is an estimate and not guaranteed. Weather conditions, times of year and custom clearance processes are out of our control, but may also affect this.

Shipping and upgrade

All of our items are sent by First Class Royal Mail and are not tracked or signed for. If your order is more than £100 however, we will automatically upgrade your shipping to tracked/signed delivery at no additional cost. We do offer expedited delivery options if you need your items in a hurry. Just drop us a message and we’ll provide you with a quote.

In the unlikely event that you haven’t received your item, please contact us within 30 days of your order. If you contact us after this date, then unfortunately it’s unlikely we’ll be able to offer a refund, as we won’t be covered or insured by our postal service provider.
