These cards started as a request from a teacher friend. Her newcomer students knew plenty of math, but words like "denominator" and "perimeter" stopped them cold, and the glossaries she had were plain word lists with no pictures.
So we built a picture card for every grades 3 to 5 math term: a clear diagram or photo, the English word, and the word in the student's home language. Every translation was checked against school glossaries and textbook usage, and we fixed the errors we found along the way.
Everything here is a printable PDF you can download right away. Print on card stock, laminate, and use them for word walls, small groups, matching games and take home practice.
