I have a selection of pieces ready to post, which can be dispatched in a few days….the rest of my jewellery is handmade to order so will take a little while to be made and dispatched.

My lead time for made to order pieces is 2 - 3 weeks.

I send all my UK parcels by signed for delivery with the Royal Mail, so hopefully they don’t get delayed.

    It's just me here .....I am fortunate to have a studio which is a converted old Chicken Coop (essentially a large glorified shed! But it's my space!) All my designs are my own, handmade by me then parcelled up carefully & then posted off to you.

Hello & welcome to my Etsy shop Jewellery By Em. All the jewellery you will find here is designed & handmade by me from my old converted (well not so converted.....it still has lots of chicken shed details!!!) Chicken Shed studio on a farm in Hertfordshire.

A lot of my jewellery is inspired by nature, the birds, flowers, weather, textures & so on. I am particularly fond of creating my little birds & creatures. I am always experimenting & trying to find new methods to try & I try to set aside a few hours each week to try & come up with different ideas & experiment with new designs. There are a lot of test pieces that go into a design before it becomes part of my jewellery collection.

Being creative is a really big part of me & I have always wanted to be able to create things that other people love & want to own. I love designing & creating my jewellery & I hope you will love to wear it.

If you have something particular you are looking for & can't find it, why don't you get in touch. I am happy to work to commission or tailor a design to suit your requirements.

Shipping

Your jewellery will arrive well packaged to protect it in the post, it will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper & come in a little hessian pouch or in a storage box with anti-tarnish wadding to help keep your jewellery looking all lovely & shiny......choose which postage option you would like at checkout.

I post parcels with Royal Mail & I send by 2nd class recorded delivery in the UK, which requires a signature. International parcels are also sent via Royal Mail, using International track & sign, but of course may take a little while to get to you.

If you wish to upgrade the postage options then please get in touch & I can advise you of the additional costs.

Please note that all jewellery which says "made to order" will take roughly between 2 - 3 weeks to make before being posted.

Environmental stuff.........
My boxes & hessian bags are eco friendly. My parcel bags & tape are eco friendly & entirely recyable if you don’t want to reuse them. I try to do my bit to help save the planet & where possible I try to reuse my Jiffy bags & packaging for postage as I also receive lots of parcels as well as listing them. If you receive any bubble wrap or something similar in your parcel please be assured that it has been reused, I do not purchase any packaging that is not environmentally friendly. Don't worry, they are always extremely well parcelled up. (If you really don't like the thought of that just let me know)

Care instructions

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time, this is a dulling & darkening that naturally and slowly occurs when silver reacts with Sulphur in the air or any other substances that might contain it.
When you are not wearing your jewellery it is best to store it separately in it's storage box or bag away from direct sun light. This will help protect your jewellery from scratches and prevent the sterling silver from tarnishing.
Try not to spray perfumes & creams etc directly onto your jewellery as these all add to the tarnishing process. They also shorten the life of elasticated bracelets.

You can use a soft silver jewellery polishing cloth to brighten up your jewellery if needed now & then.
