A principios de este año, trasladamos a mi madre a una residencia de ancianos debido al avance de su enfermedad de Alzheimer. Tras la mudanza, teníamos más objetos de colección y antigüedades valiosos que familiares a quienes heredarlos. Con la aprobación de mi madre, acordamos vender los artículos restantes de su herencia y destinar el 100% de lo recaudado a sufragar sus cuidados a largo plazo.
Fundé Lettermark Collective para asegurar que las joyas, recuerdos y objetos de decoración antiguos de nuestra madre encontraran un hogar donde se apreciara su historia y valor. Esperamos que estos tesoros atemporales y sus historias les brinden la misma alegría que le brindaron a nuestra madre y a nuestra familia.
¿Por qué «Lettermark»? Al investigar diversas piezas, las diminutas iniciales estilizadas en la parte inferior de muchas de ellas nos ayudaron a descubrir el nombre de la marca o del diseñador, el año de creación y su historia. Aprendimos que estos logotipos basados en iniciales se conocen como lettermarks o lettermarks. La historia detrás de estas fascinantes marcas se convirtió en la inspiración para el nombre de la tienda: Lettermark Collective.
Earlier this year, we moved my mom into assisted living due to her advancing Alzheimer's disease. Following the move, there were more desirable vintage and collectable pieces than there were family members to pass them down to. With our mom’s approval, we agreed to sell the remaining estate items with 100% of the proceeds helping us to pay for her long term care.
I established Lettermark Collective to ensure our mom’s vintage jewelry, memorabilia, and home décor could be welcomed into homes that would appreciate their history and value. We hope these timeless treasures and their stories bring you joy as they did to our mom and family.
Why “Lettermark?” While researching various pieces, the tiny stylized initial “marks” on the bottom of many pieces helped us to discover the brand/designer’s name, year created, and history. We learned that these logos based on initials are known as lettermarks, or letter marks. The history behind these fascinating marks became the inspiration for the shop name, Lettermark Collective.
