My name is LisaNa Macias Red Bear and I am the owner/curator of Multiverse Unleashed. You can be assured that every purchase in our shop supports my work as a Washington State based artist. Besides building this etsy shop, I am conceptualizing and illustrating picture books based upon oral history of my mother and grandmother.
I am an internationally awarded artist, Arts and Humanities Scholar with a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. My interdisciplinary artwork is rooted in inter-generational visual and oral history, what I call “sacred iconography and storytelling” every work of art, or jewelry item, I’ve encountered seems to have a story behind it. Culturally what we wear has significance or meaning and the adornment is a creative personal expression. My desire is to utilize creativity to promote love, beauty and healing!
As my 88 year young Mother and I collaborate on our first picture book with the interim title La Piñonera es Mi Abuelita! This book illustrates the inter-generational tradition taught us by my Mother's Nde' (Llañero Apache) Mother on the process of foraging wild pine nuts while not upsetting, but fully respecting, the delicate balance of nature. It is such a beautiful story!
We are so excited to have the opportunity to draw from our family's oral history and bring this rich history to life on the page! I posted a picture and a process creation video of two of the squirrels drawings I am currently working on.
