Papercutting is a traditional art form through out the world. Artists use different tools to create their works such as scissors, craft knives and even hand held sheep shears. Common styles that most people are familiar with are snow flakes and silhouettes.

I grew up loving to draw and went to college for interior design. While in college I took a drawing class that also explored briefly creating art with charcoal, ink, and paper cutting.
I create my paper cuts with a craft knife instead of a scissors, it feels similar to using a pencil for me. My work tends to be representative. I enjoy creating pieces depicting old machinery, animals and people. I love the challenge of adding enough detail that people can easily identify the subject matter and the intricacy intrigues the audience. Most of my pieces are black and white and utilize positive and negative space to engage the viewer.
I am a member of the Guild of American Papercutters.
