About Us
Hi there — we’re Tim and Jenni, and we live just outside Medellín, Colombia. We first visited in 2015, fell in love with the people and the vibrant culture, and made the move full-time in 2020 after five years in Panama, where we ran a tourism business that was rated #1 on Tripadvisor for our exceptional customer service.
Tim is a trained graphic designer who’s worked on projects for Amazon, Microsoft, and other major companies in Seattle, along with plenty of freelance projects. He loves everything about design — from crafting logos and branding to creating beautiful, eye-catching artwork that makes everyday life a little brighter.
Jenni brings over 20 years of experience supporting CEOs and executives, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes. Together, we make a great team — combining creativity, organization, and a shared love of great design and great service.
In 2019, our lives took a big turn when Tim was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and incurable cancer. Colombia became not just a place we loved — but a place that gave us hope. Thanks to its excellent and affordable healthcare system, Tim received treatment that saved his life. He’s now in his third year of remission, and we’re incredibly grateful every single day.
Why Paper Kite Design
The name Paper Kite Design is inspired by two things that brought Tim comfort and joy during treatment: the graceful Paper Kite butterfly and the colorful kites (cometas) soaring over Medellín. Watching them from his hospital window kept him focused on the positive and was a reminder to find beauty wherever possible.
That same spirit runs through everything we create. Our designs are original or carefully chosen vintage artwork and made with care — never mass-produced or AI-generated. Tim personally designs each piece, bringing his professional experience and eye for detail to every product.

Our Team
Our quality control expert, Becky Craig, lives in Cape Canaveral, Florida. With years of experience in the apparel industry, she ensures everything we ship meets our high standards. (Fun fact: she’s also Jenni’s mom!)
